A HEATWAVE is about to engulf the UK from as a warm Atlantic plume ushers in humid conditions.
It comes as bookies think September could even be the hottest on record.
The weather front is set to move in from the west, bringing with it temperatures into the mid-20Cs as we move into autumn.
Met Office graphs show a 600-mile “subtropical swell” of warmer air sweeping in across the Atlantic.
Temperatures were expected to rise today for most Brits – with a “humid feel for many,” says the Met Office.
