Rangers: Friendly against Motherwell pushed back due to test results delay

Stuart Kettlewell: Ross County manager warns test delays will cause more call-offs

Rangers’ closed-door friendly with Motherwell on Wednesday has been pushed back two hours by a delay in receiving Covid-19 test results.

Motherwell confirmed a minute after the original 18:00 BST kick-off time that their results had arrived, with all players testing negative.

Hosts Rangers expect to receive theirs before the revised 20:00 start.

It comes after Hibernian v Ross County on Saturday was postponed when test results did not arrive on time.

Premiership clubs are required to test players once per week, in line with Scottish government guidelines, with the top-flight season due to begin on 1 August.

Earlier on Wednesday, the Scottish FA and SPFL joint response group that there had been no positive tests among Premiership players for the second consecutive week.
