Italy v Bosnia-Herzegovina Live Commentary & Result, 04/09/2020, UEFA Nations League

Bosnia are without Barcelona’s Summer signing Miralem Pjanic, after he tested positive for COVID-19. However, they do have their skipper Dzeko available and starting tonight. The Roma striker scored 16 Serie A goals last season, as his side finished fifth in the table.

Surprisingly, Immobile doesn’t start tonight, despite topping the Serie A goal scoring charts this season for Lazio, with 36 goals. Instead, it is Belotti who leads the line for the Italians today. Italy are missing Marco Verratti due to PSG competing in the Champions League final recently, he is given extra time off. Federico Bernardeschi is also missing after the Juventus man picked up an injury and had to withdraw from the squad.

BOSNIA SUBS: Elvir Koljic, Jasmin Buric, Ermin Bicakcic, Muhamed Besic, Haris Duljevic, Haris Hajradinovic, Vladan Danilovic, Asmir Begovic, Eldar Civic, Deni Milosevic, Zoran Kvrzic, Anel Sabanadzovic.

BOSNIA (4-3-3): Ibrahim Sehic; Branimir Cipetic, Toni Sunjic, Sinisa Sanicanin, Sead Kolasinac; Gojko Cimirot, Amir Hadziahmetovic, Amer Gojak; Edin Visca, Edin Dzeko, Armin Hodzic.

Meanwhile Bosnia will have to wait until the play-offs to secure their place at the European Championship, as they face Northern Ireland in October, after they won their previous Nations League group.

The Nations League games will come thick and fast this year and Group A is going to be a tough group, with the Netherlands and Poland the other two sides. Italy were unbeaten in 2019, winning all six of their Euro 2020 fixtures, which includes a victory over Bosnia.
